From July 6 to 10, 2026, Geneva will once again become the meeting place for global digital governance. WSIS Forum 2026 will be held at ITU headquarters and Palexpo: the first two days at ITU headquarters, and the last three days at Palexpo. It is the first forum after the WSIS+20 UN General Assembly review, and following the adoption of resolution A/RES/80/173, the first collective test of member states beginning to translate commitments into domestic policies and cross-border cooperation.

Business and Geopolitics: The New Frontier of Rule Competition

This forum in Geneva may not produce dramatic breakthroughs. But it will test a more fundamental question: in an era when AI, climate pressure, and the digital divide are all rising at the same time, can multilateral digital cooperation move from “meetings” to “delivery”? If the answer is yes, WSIS 2026 will be not just a follow-up to WSIS+20, but the starting point of a new implementation cycle.
